Firearms Amendment Bill 2017

A Bill for

An Act to amend the Firearms Act 1996

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Firearms Amendment Act 2017

.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act

, s 75 (1)).

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Firearms Act 1996

.

4 Licence categories and authority conferred

Schedule 3, item 1, column 3

after

prohibited firearms

insert

or firearms mentioned in items 2, 3 or 4

5 Schedule 3, item 2, column 3

prohibited firearms

or firearms mentioned in items 3, 4, 5 or 6

6 Schedule 3, item 2, column 3, new paragraph (d)
