Financial Management (Budget Review) Amendment Bill 2009

A Bill for

An Act to amend the Financial Management Act 1996

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Financial Management (Budget Review) Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Financial Management Act 1996.

4 Budget review

Section 20A (1)

substitute

(1) The Treasurer must prepare a budget review for each financial year that takes into account the first 6 months of the financial year.

5 Purpose and contents of budget review

New section 20B (3) (aa)

insert

(aa) include updates of financial and economic variables; and
