Holidays (Reconciliation Day) Amendment Bill 2017

A Bill for

An Act to amend the Holidays Act 1958

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Holidays (Reconciliation Day) Amendment Act 2017

2 Commencement

This Act commences on 1 January 2018.

Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act

, s 75 (1)).

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Holidays Act 1958

4 Public holidays

New section 3 (1) (a) (viiia)

insert

(viiia) 27 May (Reconciliation Day), or, if that day is not a Monday, the following Monday;

5 Section 3 (1) (a) (x)

omit

6 Section 3 (6), definition of Family and Community Day

omit
