Australian Capital Territory Current Acts Australian Capital Territory Current Acts(1) A person who unlawfully assaults, or threatens to inflict grievous or actual bodily harm on, another person with intent to commit an act of indecency on, or in the presence of, that other person, or a third person who is present or nearby, is guilty of an offence punishable, on conviction, by imprisonment for 10 years.
(2) However, for an aggravated offence against subsection (1), the maximum penalty is imprisonment for 13 years.
