If a candidate dies before the end of polling day, and the number of candidates remaining is greater than the number of candidates to be elected, a ballot paper is not informal only because of—
(a) the inclusion on the ballot paper of the name of the deceased candidate; or
(b) the marking of any consecutive number in a candidate square adjacent to that name; or
(c) the omission to place any number in a candidate square adjacent to that name, or any resultant failure to indicate in consecutive order the elector's preferences.
