ELECTORAL ACT 1992 - SECT 52

Objections to augmented electoral commission's proposal

    (1)     An objection against a redistribution proposed by the augmented commission must be—

        (a)     in writing; and

        (b)     given to the electoral commission within 28 days after the day the notice under section 51 (3) (Publication of augmented electoral commission's proposal) is notified under the Legislation Act 2001

    (2)     If an objection is given to the electoral commission in accordance with subsection (1)—

        (a)     the augmented commission must investigate the objection; and

        (b)     section 49 (Investigation of objections) applies as if the investigation were an objection under that section.

    (3)     The commissioner must make a copy of each objection made under this section available for public inspection.
