ELECTORAL ACT 1992 - SECT 75

Age 16 enrolment

    (1)     The commissioner shall enrol a person on the roll for an electorate if the person—

        (a)     is at least 16 years old; and

        (b)     would, had the person attained the age of 18 years, be entitled to be enrolled for the electorate; and

        (c)     makes a claim for enrolment.

    (2)     If a person is enrolled on the Commonwealth roll under the Commonwealth Electoral Act

, section 100 and the address recorded on that roll is an address in an electorate—

        (a)     the person shall be taken—

              (i)     to have made a claim for enrolment under this section; and

              (ii)     to be enrolled under this section on the roll for the electorate; and

        (b)     the particulars recorded on the Commonwealth roll in relation to the person shall, so far as practicable, be taken to be the particulars recorded on the roll for the electorate.
