LIQUOR ACT 2010 - SECT 143A

Offence—fail to comply with direction to display sign

    (1)     A person commits an offence if the person—

        (a)     is a licensee; and

        (b)     the person is directed, in writing, by the commissioner to display a sign at the licensed premises of the licensee; and

        (c)     the person fails to—

              (i)     display the sign; or

              (ii)     display the sign in accordance with the direction.

Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.

    (2)     A person commits an offence if the person—

        (a)     is a permit-holder; and

        (b)     the person is directed, in writing, by the commissioner to display a sign at the permitted premises of the permit-holder; and

        (c)     the person fails to—

              (i)     display the sign; or

              (ii)     display the sign in accordance with the direction.

Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.

    (3)     An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
