(1) The applicant must—
(a) display a sign about the application at the relevant premises; and
(b) give public notice about the application.
Note Public notice means notice on an ACT government website or in a daily newspaper circulating in the ACT (see Legislation Act
, dict, pt 1).
(2) A sign and notice must—
(a) state the class of licence applied for and, for an on licence, the subclass of licence applied for; and
(b) comply with the requirements prescribed by regulation.
(3) A person commits an offence if the person—
(a) is an applicant; and
(b) fails to—
(i) display a sign in accordance with this section; or
(ii) publish a notice in accordance with this section.
Maximum penalty: 5 penalty units.
(4) An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
