Australian Capital Territory Current Acts Australian Capital Territory Current Acts(1) A person is presumed to be a parent of a child if the person was in a domestic partnership with another person who gave birth to the child at any time during the period beginning not earlier than 44 weeks, and ending not later than 20 weeks, before the birth of the child.
(2) This presumption applies whether the child was born before or after the commencement of this Act.
(3) However, this section does not affect the vesting in possession or in interest of any property that happened before the commencement of this Act.
