UNIVERSITY OF CANBERRA ACT 1989 - SECT 17

Delegation by council

    (1)     The council may delegate its functions under this Act to—

        (a)     a member of the council; or

        (b)     a committee that includes a member of the council; or

        (c)     a member of the staff of the university; or

        (d)     any other person approved by the council.

Note     For the making of delegations and the exercise of delegated functions, see the Legislation Act

    (2)     However, the council must not delegate its power to make statutes.

    (3)     A function delegated to a committee mentioned in subsection (1) (b) must be exercised by a majority of the members of the committee acting together.

    (4)     A delegate may, subject to the statutes, subdelegate to an entity mentioned in subsection (1) a function delegated under that subsection.
