WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 2011 - SECT 156

Appointment of inspectors

The regulator may appoint any of the following as an inspector:

        (a)     a public servant;

        (b)     an employee of a public authority;

        (c)     the holder of a statutory office;

        (d)     a person who is appointed as an inspector under a corresponding WHS law;

        (e)     a person in a prescribed class of persons.

Note 1     For the making of appointments (including acting appointments), see the Legislation Act

Note 2     In particular, a person may be appointed for a particular provision of a law (see Legislation Act

, s 7 (3)) and an appointment may be made by naming a person or nominating the occupant of a position (see Legislation Act

, s 207).
