Australian Capital Territory Current Regulations Australian Capital Territory Current RegulationsThe principal contractor for a construction project must take all reasonable steps to obtain a copy of the safe work method statement relating to high risk construction work before the high risk construction work commences.
Maximum penalty:
(a) in the case of an individual—$3 600; or
(b) in the case of a body corporate—$18 000.
Note 1 Strict liability applies to each physical element of each offence under this regulation, unless otherwise stated (see s 6A).
Note 2 The WHS management plan contains arrangements for co-operation between persons conducting a business or undertaking at the construction project workplace, including in relation to the preparation of safe work method statements (see s 309 (2) (b) and (e)).
