Air Pollution (Amendment) Ordinance 1986

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to amend the Air Pollution Ordinance 1984

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Air Pollution (Amendment) Ordinance 1986.1

Fires in open air

2. Section 27 of the Air Pollution Ordinance 19842 is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (2) (c) “or” (last occurring); and

(b) by inserting after paragraph (2) (c) the following paragraphs:

“(ca) conduct that forms part of an educational, social or recreational activity carried on otherwise than on residential premises;

(cb) a display, ceremony, celebration or similar activity held on—

(i) the second Monday in June in any year, being a public holiday in the Territory for the observance of the anniversary of the birthday of the Sovereign;

(ii) a day immediately preceding a day referred to in sub-paragraph (i); or

(iii) a day or part of a day specified by the Minister, by notice published in the Gazette, for the purposes of this sub-paragraph; or”.
