Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Subject to subsection (2), the operator of a conveyance is:
(a) if there is a body corporate or an unincorporated body responsible for the operation of the conveyance--that body; and
(b) in any other case--the person in charge of the conveyance.
(2) In Chapter 5 (ballast water), and any other provision
of this Act to the extent that it relates to that Chapter, the operator of a
vessel has the same meaning as Company has in the Annex to the
Ballast Water Convention.
