Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated ActsAn amount of child support due and payable by a liable parent to a carer entitled to child support is a debt due and payable by the liable parent to the carer, and may be sued for and recovered in:
(a) a court having jurisdiction for the recovery of debts up to the amount of the child support; or
(b) a court having jurisdiction under this Act.
Note: Amounts covered by section 30 of the Registration and
Collection Act are debts due to the Commonwealth.
