Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) An officer of an organisation or a branch must exercise his or her powers and discharge his or her duties:
(a) in good faith in what he or she believes to be the best interests of the organisation; and
(b) for a proper purpose.
Civil penalty: 100 penalty units, or 1,200 penalty units for a serious contravention.
(2) A person who is involved in a contravention of subsection (1) contravenes this subsection.
