THERAPEUTIC GOODS AMENDMENT ACT 1991 No. 204 of 1991 - SECT 16

16. Section 57 of the Principal Act is amended:

   (a)  by omitting from subsection (1) "subsection (2)" and substituting
        "subsections (2) and (6)";

   (b)  by adding at the end of subsection (2) "or as a pharmacist";

   (c)  by adding at the end the following subsections:

"(6) The powers of the Secretary under subsection 19(5) may be delegated only
to an officer of the Department who is registered, or eligible for
registration, in a State or internal Territory as a medical or dental
practitioner.

"(7) The regulations may prescribe the circumstances in which, and the
requirements subject to which, delegates may grant authorities under
subsection 19(5).".
