COMMONWEALTH VEHICLES (REGISTRATION AND EXEMPTION FROM TAXATION) REGULATIONS 1997 No. 194 - REG 6

The register
6. (1) To register a vehicle under section 9 of the Act, the Registrar must
enter on the register details of the vehicle.

(2) For subregulation (1), the details to be entered are:

   (a)  the name and postal address of the owner of the vehicle;

   (b)  if the vehicle is leased to the Commonwealth or a Commonwealth
        authority - the name and postal address of the lessee;

   (c)  the manufacturer of the vehicle;

   (d)  the vehicle model;

   (e)  the vehicle body type;

   (f)  the colour of the vehicle;

   (g)  the vehicle identification number;

   (h)  the period of registration;

   (i)  the registration number allotted to the vehicle.

(3) The register is not a public document.

(4) The Registrar may issue a certificate giving details of a particular
vehicle at the request, in writing, of a person.
