1979 No. 140 FEDERAL COURT RULES - RULE 5.17
Offer of contribution
17. Where in any proceeding-
(a) a party (in this rule called the first party) stands to be held liable
to another party (in this rule called the second party) to contribute
towards any debt or damages which may be recovered against the second
party in the proceeding; and
(b) the first party, at any time after he has entered an appearance, makes
an offer to the second party to contribute to a specific extent to the
debt or damages, then, if the first party makes the offer without
prejudice to his defence, the offer shall not be brought to the
attention of the Court until all questions of liability or amount of
debt or damages have been decided.
