Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Amendment Regulations 1999 (No. 1)
The attached Statutory Rules make regulations under subsection 8(3) of the Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Act 1984 (the Act) to amend the Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations (the Regulations).
Details of the regulations are as follows:
Regulation 1
This advises that the name of the regulations is the Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Amendment Regulations 1999 (No. 1).
Regulation 2
This provides that the amendments are to commence:
(a) amendments contained in Schedule 1 on 11 January 1999; and (b) amendments contained in Schedule 2 on 31 March 1999.
Regulation 3
Schedules 1 and 2 amend the Regulations as follows:
* Schedule 1 provides that Regulation 4, which relates to the office of Privacy
Commissioner, is omitted from the Regulations with effect from 11 January
1999.
* Schedule 2 provides that Regulation 2 be amended so that a rate of
remuneration of $144,100 apply to the office of Australian Electoral
Commissioner with effect from 31 March 1999. Schedule 2 also provides that
Regulation 3, which relates to the office of Director of the Australian Institute
of Health and Welfare, be omitted from the Regulations with effect from 31
March 1999.
