National Gallery Regulations (Amendment)

Section 46 of the National Gallery Act 1975 (the Act) provides that the Governor-General may make regulations, not inconsistent with the Act, prescribing all matters that are required or permitted by the Act to be prescribed or are necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to the Act, and in particular for fixing charges for entry on to any land, or into any building owned by, or under the control of the Gallery.

Part 8 of the Student and Youth Assistance Act 1973 provides for a Youth Training Allowance, which is payable as income support to unemployed people under the age of 18 years.

This amendment includes a reference to recipients of the Youth Training Allowance thereby exempting those recipients from payment of the entry charge to the National Gallery.
