ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE ACT 2014 - SECT 28
Legal representation
28 Legal representation
(1) A person appearing at a hearing of a special inquiry is not entitled to be
represented by an Australian legal practitioner unless the Advocate authorises
such representation.
(2) The Advocate is to give a person a reasonable
opportunity to make submissions regarding representation by an Australian
legal practitioner.
(3) The Advocate is not to give an authorisation unless
he or she is satisfied that the authorisation is necessary or desirable in the
public interest or for the safety, welfare or well-being of a child or
young person.
