COMPANION ANIMALS ACT 1998 - SECT 57B
Prohibition on accepting ownership of restricted dog or proposed restricted dog
(1) A person who accepts ownership of a restricted dog or
proposed restricted dog is guilty of an offence. : Maximum penalty--150
penalty units.
(2) A person does not commit an offence under this section by
reason only of taking delivery of, or detaining, a dog under Part 7 or as the
consequence of a dog being surrendered to a council pound or an
approved animal welfare organisation.
