CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS (CARE AND PROTECTION) ACT 1998 - SECT 54
Assessment of person's capacity for parental responsibility
(1) The
Children's Court may, for the purposes of an assessment order, appoint a
person to assess the capacity of a person with parental responsibility, or who
is seeking parental responsibility, for a child or young person to carry out
that responsibility.
(2) Such an assessment may be carried out only with the
consent of the person whose capacity is to be assessed.
(3) This Division
applies to such an assessment in the same way as it applies to the assessment
of a child or young person.
