CHILDREN'S COURT ACT 1987 - SECT 3
Definitions
3 Definitions
(1) In this Act, except in so far as the context or subject-matter otherwise
indicates or requires:
"Chief Magistrate" means the person appointed under section 14 (1) of the
Local Court Act 2007 to be the Chief Magistrate of the Local Court.
"Children's Magistrate" means a person appointed under section 7 (1) to be a
Children's Magistrate.
"Children's Registrar" means a person employed as a Children's Registrar as
referred to in section 10A.
"President" means the person appointed under section 6A as the President of
the Children's Court.
"rule" means a rule made under this Act.
"the Court" means the Children's Court of New South Wales constituted by this
Act.
(2) In this Act: (a) a reference to a function includes a reference to a
power, authority and duty, and
(b) a reference to the exercise of a function
includes, where the function is a duty, a reference to the performance of the
duty.
