Pecuniary penalty orders (Co-operatives National Law s 556)
14 Pecuniary penalty orders (Co-operatives National Law s 556)
(1) For the purposes of section 556 (2) of the Co-operatives National Law
(NSW) , a pecuniary penalty ordered to be paid in this jurisdiction is to be
paid and treated in accordance with this section.
(2) The penalty is a civil
debt payable to the Registrar on behalf of the State.
(3) The Registrar or
the State may enforce the order as if it were an order made in civil
proceedings against the person to recover a debt due by the person.
(4) The
debt arising from the order is taken to be a judgment debt.
