DANGEROUS GOODS (ROAD AND RAIL TRANSPORT) ACT 2008 - SECT 39
Service of notices
39 Service of notices
(1) A notice under this Part (including a notice confirming, revoking or
withdrawing such a notice) may be issued or given to a person-- (a) by
delivering it personally to the person, or
(b) by leaving it with some other
person at, or sending it by post to, the person's place of residence or
business or the place of work to which the notice relates, or
(c) by email to
an email address specified by the person for the service of notices of that
kind, or
(d) by any other method authorised by the regulations for the
service of notices of that kind.
(2) A notice under this Part that relates to
a vehicle may be given by placing it securely on the vehicle in a conspicuous
position.
(3) A person must not remove a notice under this Part from a
vehicle before the matters causing the contravention have been remedied
(unless it is necessary to do so to remedy the matters). : Maximum
penalty--100 penalty units for an individual or 500 penalty units for a body
corporate.
(4) This section does not affect the operation of any provision of
a law or the rules of a court authorising a notice or other document to be
served in a manner not authorised by this section.
