Consideration of applications
69 Consideration of applications
(1) A costs assessor must give an applicant, and any law practice or client or
other person concerned, a reasonable opportunity to make submissions to the
costs assessor in relation to the application, and give due consideration to
any submissions so made.
(1A) A costs assessor may hold an oral hearing for
the purposes of an application in accordance with the costs assessment rules.
(2) In considering an application, a costs assessor is not bound by the rules
of evidence and may inform himself or herself on any matter in the manner he
or she thinks fit.
