POLICE ACT 1990 - SECT 64
Appointments to non-executive police officer positions
(1) An appointment (whether by way of transfer or promotion or otherwise) as a
non-executive police officer is to be made by the Commissioner.
(2) It does
not matter whether the person appointed is or is not already a member of the
NSW Police Force.
(3) In particular, it does not matter whether the person
appointed is or is not a police officer at the time of appointment.
(4) As
soon as practicable after a person is appointed (whether by way of transfer or
promotion or otherwise) as a non-executive police officer, the Commissioner is
required to notify the LECC of the identity of the person so appointed.
