RESIDENTIAL (LAND LEASE) COMMUNITIES ACT 2013 - SECT 96
Establishment of residents committee
(1) The residents of a community may by resolution establish a
residents committee.
(2) The resolution must be carried by a majority of
residents of the community at a meeting to which all residents of the
community have been invited. The meeting is referred to as the
"establishment meeting" . Note : Section 98 provides for the election of the
members of the residents committee at the establishment meeting.
(3) The
operator of a community must not-- (a) discourage or prevent the establishment
or continued existence of a residents committee, or
(b) require a
residents committee to be incorporated or to take out any form of insurance.
: Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
