RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT 2010 - SECT 221
Tenants' agents
221 Tenants' agents
(1) A tenant may appoint a person as the tenant's agent for the purpose of
receiving notices or documents given under the residential tenancy agreement
or this Act or the regulations.
(2) The tenant may appoint the agent in the
residential tenancy agreement or at any time during the tenancy by written
notice given to the landlord or the landlord's agent.
(3) An appointment may
be revoked at any time by written notice given to the landlord or the
landlord's agent.
(4) A landlord, landlord's agent or the Tribunal (if aware
of the appointment) must give to the tenant's agent any notices or other
documents required to be given to the tenant under the
residential tenancy agreement or this Act or the regulations.
(5) Any such
notice or document is taken to have been given to the tenant if it is given to
the tenant's agent.
