WILDERNESS ACT 1987 - SECT 29
Regulations
29 Regulations
(1) The Governor may make regulations, not inconsistent with this Act, for or
with respect to any matter that by this Act is required or permitted to be
prescribed or that is necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying
out or giving effect to this Act.
(2) In particular, the regulations may make
provision for or with respect to wilderness areas.
(3) A regulation may
create an offence punishable by a penalty not exceeding 5 penalty units.
(4)
A regulation made under this Act applying: (a) to a wilderness area under the
National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 --shall have no effect to the extent to
which it is inconsistent with a regulation under that Act applying to that
area, or
(b) to an area subject to a wilderness protection agreement or
conservation agreement--shall have no effect to the extent to which it is
inconsistent with the terms of that agreement.
