180 Lodging of appeals to District Court from decision of Visiting Magistrate
(1) A inmate must lodge a notice of appeal, or application for leave to
appeal, under section 62 of the Act with the governor.
(2) On receiving a
notice or application from an inmate, the governor must immediately forward a
copy of it to the Visiting Magistrate by whom the relevant penalty was imposed
on the inmate.
(3) On receiving the notice or application from the governor,
the Visiting Magistrate must send it, together with all other relevant papers
held by the Visiting Magistrate, to a registrar of the District Court.
Section 14 of the Crimes (Appeal and Review) Act 2001 does not apply to the
notice or application.
