NSW rule: children under 16 years not to ride on certain footpaths

250-1 NSW rule: children under 16 years not to ride on certain footpaths

(1) A rider of a bicycle who is under 16 years old must not ride on any footpath in an area that the Minister has declared, by order published in the Gazette, to be an area in which riding on footpaths by children under 16 years of age is prohibited.
: Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
(1A) An order made under this rule in force immediately before 23 July 2018 that declares an area to be an area in which riding on footpaths by children under 12 years of age is prohibited is taken, on 23 July 2018, to have declared the area to be an area in which riding on footpaths by children under 16 years of age is prohibited.
(2) In this rule--

"footpath" does not include a separated footpath.
Note 1 :
"Separated footpath" is defined in rule 239.
Note 2 : This rule is an additional NSW road rule. There is no corresponding rule in the Australian Road Rules .
