Giving way in median turning bays
86 Giving way in median turning bays
(1) A driver entering a median turning
bay must give way to any oncoming vehicle already in the turning bay. :
Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
Note 1 :
"Oncoming vehicle" is defined in the Dictionary.
Note 2 : For this rule,
"give way" means the driver must slow down and, if necessary, stop to avoid a
collision--see the definition in the Dictionary.
(2) In this rule--
"median turning bay" means a marked lane, or the part of a marked lane-- (a)
to which a median turning lane sign applies, or
(b) where traffic lane arrows
applying to the lane indicate that vehicles travelling in opposite directions
must turn right.
Note :
"Marked lane" and
"traffic lane arrows" are defined in the Dictionary.

Example : In the example, vehicle B must give way to vehicle A.
