206 Show cause notice

(1) If a local government reasonably believes proper grounds exist for applying to the tribunal to start a disciplinary proceeding against a building certifier, the local government must before making the application give the building certifier a notice (a
"show cause notice" ).

(2) The show cause notice must—

(a) state the grounds for making the application; and

(b) outline the facts and circumstances forming the basis for the grounds; and

(c) invite the building certifier to show within a stated period (the
"show cause period" ) why the application should not be made.

(3) The show cause period must be a period ending not less than 20 business days after the show cause notice is given to the building certifier.
