(1) If the QBCC commissioner considers a complaint about a pool safety inspector is capable of resolution by mediation, the commissioner must give the complainant and the pool safety inspector a notice stating—(a) that the commissioner considers the complaint is capable of resolution by mediation; and(b) attendance at, and participation in, mediation is voluntary; and(c) that either party may withdraw from the mediation at any time; and(d) when the mediation ends; and(e) the effect of giving the commissioner a certificate about the mediation.
(2) The commissioner may recommend the complainant and the pool safety inspector enter into a process of mediation to resolve the complaint as soon as practicable and before the commissioner investigates the complaint.
