CRIME AND CORRUPTION ACT 2001 - SECT 146J
Disclosure of information
146J Disclosure of information
(1) This section applies to a person to whom the existence of any of the
following (
"relevant information" ) becomes known— (a) an application for— (i)
approval of a controlled operation; or
(ii) a variation of an approval given
for a controlled operation;
(b) a decision of the committee to recommend the
approval of, or the variation of an approval for, a controlled operation, and
the committee’s recommendation;
(c) an approval of— (i) a controlled
operation; or
(ii) a variation of an approval given for a controlled
operation;
(d) information about a controlled operation;
(f) the actual
identity of a covert operative.
(2) The person must not disclose
relevant information, other than— (a) for the purposes of this part; or
(b)
with the approval of the commission; or
(c) to the extent— (i) the
information has generally been made known; or
(ii) it is in the public
interest to disclose the information.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—85
penalty units or 1 year’s imprisonment.
