CRIME AND CORRUPTION ACT 2001 - SECT 273
Commission officer’s identity card
(1) The chief executive officer must give each commission officer an identity
card.
(2) The identity card must— (a) contain a recent photo of the
officer; and
(b) contain a copy of the commission officer’s signature; and
(c) identify the person as a commission officer under this Act; and
(d) state
an expiry date for the card.
(3) A person who stops being a
commission officer must return the person’s identity card to the chief
executive officer as soon as possible (but within 21 days) after the person
stops being a commission officer, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(4) This section does
not prevent the giving of a single identity card to a person for this Act and
other purposes.
(5) In this section—
"commission officer" does not include— (a) a police officer who is a member
of a police task force established under section 32 ; or
(b) a person engaged
under section 256 .
