CRIME AND CORRUPTION ACT 2001 - SECT 279
Deputy committee member
(1) The chairperson of the commission may appoint as the chairperson’s
deputy for a reference committee meeting another commissioner or the senior
executive officer (corruption) (
"deputy committee member" ).
(2) The commissioner of police may appoint as
the commissioner’s deputy for a reference committee meeting an officer
holding rank at least equal to assistant commissioner (also a
"deputy committee member" ).
(3) The principal commissioner under the
Family and Child Commission Act 2014 may appoint as the commissioner’s
deputy for a reference committee meeting an appropriately qualified person
nominated by the commissioner (also a
"deputy committee member" ).
(4) The chief executive officer of the
Australian Crime Commission may appoint as the chief executive officer’s
deputy for a reference committee meeting an appropriately qualified person
nominated by the chief executive officer (also a
"deputy committee member" ).
(5) A person appointed as a
deputy committee member for a reference committee meeting under this section
is, for the purposes of the meeting, taken to be the committee member for whom
the person is deputy.
