Chief executive’s responsibilities
159G Chief executive’s responsibilities
(1) The chief executive is responsible for— (a) ensuring ways exist to
coordinate the roles and responsibilities of the chief executive, authorised
officers, prescribed entities and service providers in promoting the
protection of children, child protection services and family support services;
and
(b) establishing ways to coordinate the roles and responsibilities of the
chief executive, authorised officers, prescribed entities and
service providers relating to— (i) investigating and assessing particular
cases of harm to children; and
(ii) taking action to secure the protection of
children and promote their wellbeing.
(2) One of the ways in which the chief
executive is to fulfil the responsibility under subsection (1) (b) is by
establishing and participating in the SCAN system under part 3 .
