CHILD PROTECTION (OFFENDER REPORTING AND OFFENDER PROHIBITION ORDER) ACT 2004 - SECT 19B
Requirement to report each change in premises or locality at which offender stays or can be found
19B Requirement to report each change in premises or locality at which
offender stays or can be found
(1) The police commissioner may require a reportable offender to report the
changes in the offender’s personal details mentioned in subsection (3) if
the commissioner is reasonably satisfied that doing so is necessary to protect
the lives or sexual safety of children.
(2) The police commissioner imposes
the requirement under subsection (1) on the offender by giving the offender a
reporting obligations notice under section 54A (3) stating that the offender
is required to report the changes.
(3) The reportable offender must report
each change in the premises where the offender stays, or locality where the
offender can generally be found— (a) during each period of 3 or more
consecutive days in which— (i) the offender does not stay at the premises
where the offender generally resides; or
(ii) the offender does not generally
reside at any premises; and
(b) within 24 hours after the change happens.
