Suspension of reporting obligations of reportable offenders on police commissioner’s own initiative
67C Suspension of reporting obligations of reportable offenders on police
commissioner’s own initiative
(1) The police commissioner may suspend the reportable offender’s reporting
obligations on the commissioner’s own initiative only if satisfied, on
reasonable grounds, that— (a) the offender does not pose a risk to the lives
or sexual safety of 1 or more children, or of children generally; and
(b) if
the offender has a cognitive or physical impairment—the impairment is a
significant impairment; and
(c) if the offender has a mental illness—the
illness is a significant mental illness.
(2) The police commissioner must
give the reportable offender written notice of the suspension as soon as
reasonably practicable.
(3) The suspension takes effect when the commissioner
gives the notice to the reportable offender.
