ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT 1994 - SECT 79
What is an agricultural ERA
(1) An
"agricultural ERA" is any of the following activities carried out, on a
commercial basis, on land in the Great Barrier Reef catchment— (a) cattle
grazing;
(b) horticulture; Example— commercial cultivation of bananas
(c) cultivation of another crop. Example— commercial cultivation of
sugarcane or grains
(2) For subsection (1) , all the land in a lot is taken
to be in the Great Barrier Reef catchment if more than 75% of the lot, or
20,000ha of land in the lot, is in the catchment.
(3) In this section—
"lot" means— (a) a lot under the Land Title Act 1994 ; or
(b) a separate,
distinct parcel of land for which an interest is recorded in a register under
the Land Act 1994 .
