Functions of inspectors
12 Functions of inspectors
(1) For this Act or a primary Act, an inspector has the following functions—
(a) to investigate, monitor and enforce compliance with this Act or the
primary Act;
(b) to investigate or monitor whether an occasion has arisen for
the exercise of powers under this Act or the primary Act;
(c) to facilitate
the exercise of powers under this Act or the primary Act.
(2) Subject to this
Act, an inspector may exercise the powers under this Act for the purpose of
these functions.
(3) Subject to the modifying provisions for the following
Acts and any provisions of the primary Act, the functions are in addition to
and do not limit any functions the inspector has under the primary Act— (a)
Associations Incorporation Act 1981 ;
(b)
Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act 2003 ;
(c)
Property Occupations Act 2014 ;
(d)
Residential Services (Accreditation) Act 2002 ;
(e)
Retirement Villages Act 1999 ;
(f) Tourism Services Act 2003 .
(4) It is
unnecessary for the inspector to hold a separate appointment for this Act.
