Notice of forfeiture
240S Notice of forfeiture
(1) If the designated person forfeits a lease, the chief executive must give
the lessee and any mortgagee or relevant local government notice that the
lease is forfeited.
(2) A notice that a lease is forfeited must be published
in the gazette.
(3) A lease is forfeited by the registration of a
forfeiture notice.
(4) The forfeiture notice must include the particulars of
the gazette notice forfeiting the lease.
(5) The forfeiture of the lease
takes effect on the day the forfeiture notice is registered.
(6) In this
section—
"forfeiture notice" means a notice in the approved form requesting the
registrar of titles to register the forfeiture of a lease under this Act.
