Taking into consideration Aboriginal tradition and Islander custom
29 Taking into consideration Aboriginal tradition and Islander custom
(1) If land is entered under chapter 6A , part 3 , and the land is registered
in the native title register or has been transferred or granted under the
Aboriginal Land Act 1991 or the Torres Strait Islander Land Act 1991 , the
entry must, to the extent possible, take Aboriginal traditions and Islander
customs into consideration. Note— Chapter 6A , part 3 deals with the power
of an authorised officer to enter a place, including a place that is freehold
land or non-freehold land.
(2) In this section—
"native title register" means the National Native Title Register under the
Native Title Act 1993 (Cwlth) .
