98 Closure of road

(1) If, after inquiry and notice the Minister considers appropriate, the Minister is satisfied a road is not needed, the Minister may—

(a) permanently close the road under division 4 ; or

(b) temporarily close the road by issuing, under section 103 , a road licence over the road to a person.

(2) The Minister may—

(a) permanently close the road without receiving an application under section 99 (1) ; or

(b) temporarily close the road without receiving an application under section 99 (3) .

(3) A road is temporarily closed from the day the road licence mentioned in subsection (1) (b) is issued.
