(1) The Mental Health Court has jurisdiction to hear and decide—(a) references under chapter 5 ; and(b) appeals under chapter 13 , part 3 ; and(c) reviews under division 9 of the detention of persons in authorised mental health services or the forensic disability service.
(2) In exercising its jurisdiction, the court—(a) must inquire into the matter before it; and(b) may inform itself in relation to the matter before it in any way it considers appropriate.
(3) The court’s jurisdiction is not limited, by implication, by a provision of this or another Act.
(4) A member of the court retains all of the member’s jurisdiction as a Supreme Court judge.
